The city of El Calafete, Santa Cruz, famous for its glaciers, will have its Ice Museum, the first in Argentina, which will open the doors to the public in January next year.
It will be called Glaciarum and its focus will be the detailed exhibition of the “Patagonia Giants”, which are a big attraction for the local and foreign tourism.
The main themes of this initiative will be the local history, the glaciers and the climatic change.
The location of the exhibition will be in the suburb of El Calafete, 4 km far from the city, in direction of the National Parc “Los Glaciares”, where many pavilions are presently being built. That final project, to be reached in different stages, will cover a surface of approx. 2.500 square meters.
The state of the art museum will be soon one of the most attractive place for the 250.000 tourists visiting El Calafete every year.
In the front of the building three towers of two levels, inclined on the three facades, raise so as to obtain a dynamic looking of the structure.
The front, with its discontinuous forms, is built with EMMEDUE® panels.
It is not the first time that works of a particular social and cultural value are realised using our system and EMMEDUE® is very pride to have taken part in the realisation of such an ambitious project.
A special thanks to our Argentinean partner CASSAFORMA®!
